New York band Lathe Of Heaven have shared their new single At Moment’s Edge with its video directed by Emma Penrose and Zach Shorrosh.
“Gage reached out to us asking if we wanted to make a music video for Lathe Of Heaven and showed us maybe the most thought-out mood board I’ve ever seen, referencing Man Ray, Caravaggio, Marcel Duchamp as well as classic and contemporary science fiction,” Penrose said.
“Inspired by the monochromatic imagery, we shot At Moment’s Edge entirely on 16mm black & white film & print stock and developed it by hand ourselves. We processed the 900’ of film at Mono No Aware using an eco friendly developer consisting of coffee, beer & vitamin C powder. The results turned out exactly as we’d hoped.”
Echo Ladies have posted the video for their new single Coming Home.
“This song is heavily inspired by two of our favourite bands, A Place To Bury Strangers and The Jesus & Mary Chain,” the band said.
“Our aim was to make the song feel like a big wave of noise, feedback, and guitars that hits you in the face. We can’t remember how many layers of fuzzed and distorted guitars are on this track, but it’s a lot…”
The Joy Formidable have released their new single Cut Your Face, the first of three the band are planning ahead of a UK tour during September and early October.
Ritzy Bryan has said:
“Cut Your Face is a reminder to myself that even in shyness, when that voice is telling you to hide away, that what I really want is deep, authentic connection. The only way to satisfy that longing is to be vulnerable, messy and imperfect…and life is all the more beautiful because of it.”
Molly Burch has shared her new Daydreamer single Unconditional ahead of the album’s release on September 29th via Captured Tracks.
“This song is a traditional unrequited love song but I wrote it thinking about how I feel as a working artist in todays climate,” Burch said.
“A big part of pursuing a creative job is being okay with the roller coaster of emotions. Sometimes things feel positive and sometimes you feel a lot of rejection. This is my way of expressing that through a narrative of not being seen or appreciated by a person you were romantic with.”
Coach Party have shared their latest ‘KILLJOY’ preview Parasite.
“Everyone has those people in their lives that they’ll do anything to avoid,” the band’s Guy Page said. “If you don’t, you might be one of those people, and this song is for you: the parasite in human form, whose sole purpose on this earth is to drain the energy, creativity and enthusiasm of generous people.”
“When you see their name flash up on your phone, you genuinely consider eating it. As what is arguably our most heavy track on KILLJOY, the pace and sonics are a direct reflection of how irritating and soul-destroying these parasites are. Take our advice: starve them of your good vibes, and eventually they’ll move on.”
Folly Group have shared their new track Strange Neighbour, walking ‘two lines at once’ according to Sean Harper:
“Louis’s verses and choruses are an ode to community as it dematerialises. Urban areas become un-neighbourly as spiraling rents force most people our age to move annually, and that’s if they’re lucky.”
“At the same time, when it was being written, we had a sense that some of the music our peers were making came from a sneering, holier-than-thou place, voyeuristically skewing strangers’ perspectives to misrepresent another point of view and make their own more righteous.”
Pale Blue Eyes have shared their new single Spaces.
It’s taken from the band’s forthcoming second album This House, due for release on September 1st.
“Change is good, healthy and things move on and evolve,” the band said. “People always want control. Life will always throw stuff at you that you can’t control, so it’s pointless even trying.”
Raw Poetic — the duo of MC/lyricist Jason Moore and guitarist P-Fritz – have followed up their recent sold-out show at The Jazz Cafe in London with their new single Dank Ish.
“Dank Ish was initially just a play on a friend’s name, that turned into a mystical journey back to Africa after taking a sip of a drink,” Moore said. “What was really in the drink, who knows!”
The track will be a part of their new album Away Back In, due on August 25th.
Pseudo Cool have released their brand new Sharp’s Catching Waves.
It out independently, a homage to 1970’s Welsh surfer Linda Sharp.
Sharp was a surfer born in Aberafan who won the European surfing championships twice, the British surfing championships ten times and the Welsh surfing championships 19 times.
