Track Of The Week comes from Los Blancos after the band announced their debut album Sbwriel Gwyn for release on September 27th.
Its new single Dilyn Iesu Grist (translated from Welsh as Follow Jesus Christ) is our pick, described by vocalist and bassist Dewi Jones as ‘a song about empty rhetoric and how something that is utter nonsense can sound profound and meaningful’:
“It is not necessarily a dig at religion; it can apply to popular culture or politics, such as ‘brexit means brexit etc’ or cringey inspirational quotes on social media.”
The band have live dates in Wales coming up – on the day of their album’s release at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff; at Bar Seler, Cardigan on October 18th; and on the first two days of November at Clwb Canol Dre, Caernarfon and Ty Pawb, Wrexham.
