All eyes will be on Tony Visconti when the veteran producer delivers this year’s South By Southwest keynote speech on March 16th in Austin, Texas.
Visconti had a long association with David Bowie and produced the legendary songwriter’s final studio album ‘Blackstar‘, which was released earlier this month.
Upon Bowie’s sad death on January 10th, it was Visconti who led the countless tributes with a beautifully written statement remembering his long-term friend which read:
“He always did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life – a work of Art. He made ‘Blackstar’ for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be. I wasn’t, however, prepared for it. He was an extraordinary man, full of love and life.”
