Tom Odell has delayed the UK release of his debut album ‘Long Way Down‘ to bring it in line with the rest of Europe and the US.

“Long Way Down is going to be released in the US this June,” a Facebook statement reads. “Things are going well over there and everyone who came to see me at SXSW was amazing. In Europe, ‘Another Love’ has been in the top 10 in a few countries, which is awesome so we’re going to put out the record across Europe too. Really happy about it all and thank you to everyone who’s helped me get to this point.”

“The flipside of all this is that the UK release of Long Way Down needs to go back to June so Long Way Down demo that all the release dates across the world are the same. These days having different release dates would mean the album may end up getting leaked, which is not fair on all of you who paid for it.”

Tom Odell has been subject of plenty of industry hype since last summer after a series of well received single releases, which culminated in him picking up the Brits Critics’ Choice award last month.

“All your pre-orders are still valid of course and I’m really sorry to keep you waiting longer,” the post continues. “Hope you understand it’s for the right reasons, I’m sorry, but to keep you going until then here’s a free download of the Long Way Down demo.”
