Roger Daltrey will mark a century of Teenage Cancer Trust gigs with The Who next year.
Fittingly performing the 100th show of the charity concert series which he curates, Daltrey and Pete Townshend are planning a special acoustic outing of ‘Tommy‘ at the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 30th and April 1st next year.
From there, rescheduled UK arena dates begin in London on April 3rd, moving on to Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield and Birmingham and continuing the 50th anniversary celebrations which began in 2014 and were described as ‘the beginning of the long goodbye’. “Trying to stay young,” Townshend said.
“Not wearing socks. Growing a great big woodcutter’s beard. Might even wear a check shirt onstage and get a tattoo of a Union Jack. Always a fashion victim. But under no illusions. We are what we are, and extremely good at it, but we’re lucky to be alive and still touring.”
