The Rifles Unplugged Album: Recorded At Abbey Road Studios will be released by the band as a tidy precursor to their May UK and Ireland tour.

The album was recorded at Abbey Road during one take in January, and is due for release on April 28th. Joel Stoker and Luke Crowther of The Rifles were accompanied by Deano Mumford on keys, a string quartet and a 30-piece choir.

“We had a fantastic day at Abbey Road and have wanted to nail some recordings of our songs acoustically with strings for a long time, and feel this album has really raised the bar, can’t wait for people to hear it,” the band have said.

The tour starts on May 2nd at the Bristol Thekla, and checks in at Portsmouth, Birmingham, Cambridge, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Gateshead, York, Nottingham, Leicester, Oxford, London and Belfast before the closing show at Workman’s Club, Dublin on June 2nd.
