The inclusion of two new tracks on a 10th anniversary re-release of The Raconteurs second studio album Consolers Of The Lonely from Third Man is to preempt a brand new LP from the band next year according to the label.

When announcing the reissue as part of its Vault series, Jack White’s label has said the songs emerged from ‘recent sessions that will ultimately result in a new Raconteurs album in 2019’.

Jack White was discussing the potential for new Raconteurs material back in 2013 when he was also eyeing up increased solo and Dead Weather activity during an interview with Rolling Stone. “We all live in Nashville now,” he said.

“All the Raconteurs and all the Dead Weather live in Nashville now, so we often go on trips together, because we’re all just good pals. We’ve recorded some things, too. And Brendan and the Raconteurs just built a new studio right in town, so it’s a lot of great inspiration going around.”

While he has since come good on the solo and Dead Weather albums, it’s taken until now for The Raconteurs to join the party.
