We should expect the next Shins album early next year, according to James Mercer.
“I’m really excited about this record,” he’s told the KBOO 90.7 radio station. “I think we’ve got something that Shins fans will really love, and I think there are some other things on there that are different enough.”
The Shins have been teasing clips of their recording sessions this year after a first record since 2012’s ‘Port Of Morrow‘ was first advanced just before Christmas 2015 as part of a mailout from the group’s label Columbia.
“I made a concerted effort on some songs to fit the palette, to use the palette that I’ve historically used for the band,” Mercer continued.
