The Maccabees have posted a Steve Mason remix of their ‘Marks To Prove It‘ album track ‘Something Like Happiness‘.

The band’s long awaited new LP gloriously went to number one in the UK earlier this month, and one of its highlights has now been streched out to an eight-minute odyssey by the equally brilliant Steve Mason – whose ‘Monkey Minds In The Devil’s Time’ album was one of the Live4ever writers’ albums of 2013.

The Maccabees have also announced details of a North American tour which will include trips to Los Angeles, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Columbus and Chicago in October (full details here) and promise UK and European dates in due course.

“The standout moments come as a pair. ‘Something Like Happiness‘ is more than anything else here reminiscent of their earlier records, but comes with a maturity, a slight darkness and an unshakable brilliance that is all ‘Marks To Prove It’s own,” our review reads.

“This is followed by the brilliant rage and fury, the shifting and jagged beauty of ‘WW1 Portraits‘. It hits hard, very hard indeed.”
