The Libertines have posted a Facebook message to fans as they prepare to return to the stage for the first time since 2010 tonight (June 28th) in Glasgow.
After the band were revealed to be reuniting for a headline appearance at next month’s British Summer Time festival, more announcements for festivals in Spain and Portugal, and for a full blown tour of Europe in September, have seen the next few months expand into their busiest period for over a decade.
Now, just before the first of two nights at Glasgow Barrowlands, The Libertines have said: “Tomorrow we make our full live return with the first of two shows in Glasgow, warming up for the big one in Hyde Park next Saturday.”
“We’ve been on quite a journey getting to this point, and where we go from here – who knows. What’s a safe bet though, is that the next few weeks are going to be truly memorable. The first show in Scotland with all four of us in ten years…and then our biggest ever headline performance in London. Incredible.”
The Libertines headline British Summer Time at London’s Hyde Park on July 5th.
