The Horrors: ‘Collaborations are for losers who want to boost their careers’

horrorsThere will be no guest stars on the new Horrors album according to the band’s frontman Faris Badwan, who believes collaborations are for ‘losers’ chasing a quick career boost.

There are guests aplenty on several forthcoming high profile album releases, while a quick glance at the UK Singles Chart is enough to see the word ‘feat.’ appearing on a regular basis.

The Horrors won’t be joining that trend however; “Collaborations are for losers who want to boost their careers by getting fucking Rita Ora on their track,” Badwan tells NME.

Meanwhile, the group have also confirmed their follow-up to 2011’s excellent ‘Skying‘ will now not be released until sometime 2014 after they previously aimed to have it on the shelves by September.

“We didn’t finish mixing it in time so it’s been pushed back,” guitarist Josh Hayward explains. “But now we’ve got more time we’ll probably write more songs for it.”

“We basically had the choice between finishing the record and it being one way, or giving it a few more months and it being substantially better,” Badwan adds. “Albums last forever, there’s no point rushing it.”
