After bringing two tracks from their forthcoming ‘Sergeant Peppers’ Lonely Hearts Club Band‘ reimagination to Jimmy Kimmel Live last week, The Flaming Lips were back on US television yesterday evening (November 6th) for a performance of ‘A Day In The Life‘ with Miley Cyrus on Conan.

Frankly it all looks like an ill-funded opening ceremony from some early nineties sporting event. Follow the action via YouTube below.

The full album is entitled ‘With a Little Help From My Fwends‘ and as well as Cyrus, also features contributions from the likes of of Moby, My Morning Jacket and MGMT.

It follows similar reworkings of Pink Floyd‘s own studio-stretching classic ‘Dark Side Of The Moon‘, which was released under the unsurprisingly eccentric banner ‘The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches Doing The Dark Side of the Moon‘, and The Stone Roses‘ brilliant self-titled debut of 1989.
