Enemy frontman Tom Clarke wants to spend this year in small venues road-testing new material and will start it off with a series of intimate London gigs in April.
“I’m very excited to be able to announce that this April I’ll be playing four very intimate shows across London,” he’s said on Facebook. “As amazing as it was to headline Shepherds Bush Empire at the end of 2017, I want to spend 2018 in tiny venues, up close and personal with fans, trying out new material to see what works, as well as playing all the classics of course.”
“April will be the first spree of these tiny gigs. North, East, South and West London is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, it’s a change from the beaten track for me, and a chance to sneak some new songs into the set and see how they go down!”
After The Enemy came to an end in 2016, Clarke spent a reasonable chunk of last year celebrating the tenth anniversary of its debut album We’ll Live And Die In These Towns via UK acoustic shows.
