The Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach presented his new side-project The Arcs on television for the first time last Friday (September 25th) via a performance of ‘Outta My Mind‘ on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Auerbach has gathered together an eclectic bunch of musicians for debut album ‘Yours, Dreamily’, including Soul Records founder Leon Michels, former Amy Winehouse collaborator Nick Movshon, members of the mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache and others.
“It was cut really quick in a week and a half, two weeks of recording, I just wanted to do my thing and get extra weird,” Auerbach previously explained.
“I wanted everything to flow and be cohesive. A lot of the songs bleed one into the other, a lot like the Grateful Dead – my favourite records that they did.
“So I’ve got a lot of connected songs. It’s basically everything I love about music all wrapped up into one record – that’s all!”
