The Amazons have announced their new album Future Dust.

It will open with Mother, the track which earlier this year set the clock ticking towards their follow-up to 2017’s self-titled debut album, and which is being succeeded today with new single Doubt It. “Doubt It is about being on the edge of making a potentially stupid decision due to lust-induced blindness,” lead singer Matthew Thomson explains. “It addresses the lingering doubts, the residue of morals and succumbing to the temptations.”

“We were searching for a heavier sound and we found it by delving back through the blues,” he adds on the album itself.

“From Led Zeppelin, we discovered Howlin’ Wolf and immersed ourselves in his back catalogue. I read Hellfire, the Jerry Lee Lewis biography, and fell in love with the Biblical language that was used to describe his ‘devil music’.”

Future Dust will be released on May 24th, a month which heralds the start of some UK festival appearances for the band.
