T In The Park will ‘focus on rock bands’ should it return from 2017 break

T In The Park organiser Geoff Ellis has said there will be a refocus on rock music and age restrictions should the festival return from its break this year.

Ellis told BBC Radio Scotland (via NME) that the changes are aimed at preventing ’16 and 17 year olds going a bit crazy’, which he says is one of the problems they have seen creeping into the event during recent years.

“It does mean families can’t come to the event like they have done traditionally since 1994, but that is something we have to do.”

T In The Park’s enforced move from Balado to Strathallan Castle two years ago ushered in various logistical and safety problems which ultimately led to the 2017 break.

In its place has come TRSMT on Glasgow Green, where Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro have been signed up as headliners.
