Stone Roses bass player Mani has claimed the reunited band have ‘been working on a few bits’ and are planning to release a brand new album in 2015.

During an interview with Gigslutz, Mani was asked about the Stone Roses’ studio work, and replied, “Yeah we’ve been working on a few bits,” before adding, “2015 man, 2015,” when quizzed about a possible release.

The Manchester group first discussed their intentions to work on new material at the very first press conference which confirmed their unlikely return back in October 2011. It had been originally thought that new songs could be included on the subsequent European tour of last year, but as yet nothing has seen the light of day, with setlists taking on a distinct greatest hits feel.

Guitarist John Squire was equally as cagey about any LP when speaking to BBC 6Music at the premiere of Made Of Stone, declaring:

“We’re working on it. It’ll be ready in about five years. We’ve got a few new songs. I can’t really tell you much about it. We won’t be playing the songs live until we’ve recorded them. We’re working on it this year.”
