Soundgarden will return to the venue they first opened 18 years ago with a gig at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire next month.
The show takes place on November 9th, and is set to offer fans a taste of the US band’s forthcoming album ‘King Animal‘, which is also pencilled in for release in November.
Tickets for the one-off gig are due to go onsale from October 26th, with those who pre-order the new album automatically entered into an exclusive pre-sale.
Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil recently described their sixth studio record, and first since 1996′s ‘Down on the Upside‘ as re-establishing “…that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird.”
‘King Animal’s release next month will cement a successful reunion for the band since frontman Chris Cornell officially announced their return in January 2010. New material was also issued earlier this year when the track ‘Live To Rise’ was included on the soundtrack for the 2012 Avengers movie.
