Slaves guitarist Laurie Vincent will launch his first solo art exhibition at a special pop-up at London’s Amersham Arms on March 19th.

Vincent says his art is inspired by the post-modernism of Andy Warhol, the street art of Basquiat, the expressive work of Keith Haring and the anarchic, DIY ethos of Raymond Pettibon. “I’d like my paintings to excite and inspire other people,” he adds.

“I want my paintings hung on gallery walls and in people’s collections. I just want to take my painting as far as it will go and to keep enjoying it.”

Vincent’s work was first shown along with art from members of Genghar, Alt-J and Bombay Bicycle Club at Hackney Downs Studios last year. This launch night will include DJ sets from BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart and another from a ‘secret guest’.

After the opening night, the exhibition will remain open all day throughout March 20th.
