Kasabian guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno has confirmed his debut solo album The S.L.P. for release on August 30th.

As we’ve previously learned, the album will contain contributions from artists such as slowthai and Little Simz, and Pizzorno has said he intends this new solo vehicle to carry on welcoming collaborations in the future. “Moving forward, I’d like to collaborate more and open that door more,” he’s explained. “The S.L.P. project will become this sort of place I can go and just do whatever. It’s so important to have that.”

“My life in the band and my boys, that’s part of me that will be there forever, but then there’s something else I have to get that out or I won’t be able to move forward.”

Latest single Nobody Else was, like the rest of the album, recorded at Pizzorno’s own studio in Leicester; the single is the result of him ‘starting to learn jazz chords’. “It’s so important, that innocence of just exploring and experimenting, when you’ve got that little part of you going ‘can I get away with that?’,” he concluded.

The S.L.P. will go around Europe in September when UK shows are booked in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.
