Ronnie Wood again hints at 2012 Rolling Stones tour

ronniewoodRonnie Wood has again hinted at plans for The Rolling Stones to tour at some point this year, according to The Sun newspaper.

Wood is quoted by the tabloid as saying he has been told to keep his diary free later this year in preparation for some Rolling Stones activity to mark the legendary band’s 50th year.

“It looks like we are going to be doing more stuff,” he apparently said at this week’s Sony Radio Awards. “I am keeping October/November free, that’s what I’ve been told. I’m just awaiting more information.”

Woods comments come just a few weeks after he apologised to his Stones bandmates via an interview with Billboard after previously appearing to suggest the band were also hoping to recording new material in conjunction with their touring plans.

However, it seems Wood was more careful to dismiss any notion of a new album emerging when speaking at the Sonys: “New ones? Are you joking?,” he continued. “We are familiarising ourselves with our back catalogue and have only scratched the surface.”
