Roger Daltrey has said he is planning to hand over organisation of the Teenage Cancer Trust series of concerts in 2020, adding it’ll ‘probably’ be to Noel Gallagher.

Daltrey began the concerts in 2000 and they’ve been supported by Noel Gallagher pretty much ever since. The former Oasis star did act as organiser in 2013 when Daltrey was away on tour with The Who and was back offering his services last night as the warm-up act for the same band.

Now, once 20 years of service has been completed, Daltrey is hoping Gallagher will take over permanently. “I’d like to do 20 years and that’d be enough for me,” he told NME. “I’ll probably hand it over to Noel or someone. One of the younger mob.”

“I think in three years time, it’ll be time for me to hand over to find someone else to pick up my reigns. I’m sure there’ll be someone be there to do it.”

“I will warn them that it’s much more work than they’d think it is. But it’s the most rewarding work that you’ll ever do, not financially or in anything like that, but it fills you up with something money can’t buy. It’s amazing.”
