It’s now been well over seven years since The Who released their last studio album ‘Endless Wire‘, an LP which itself was the first collection of new material from Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend since the early Eighties.
Speaking to NME this week however, Daltrey has suggested a twelfth studio effort from the surviving duo might not be too far off. “Pete’s got hundreds of songs,” he said.
“So the only question is whether we get around to it, but he wants to make an album and I’m always ready and raring to go. We’ll see.”
“I never know what I’m doing next, it’s about what comes through my letterbox tomorrow, but I don’t see why we wouldn’t. My voice is still in good shape. The hearing isn’t so great, but the voice is fine.”
The Who are expected to wind down as a live force after celebrations for their Golden anniversary come to an end sometime in 2015.
