Robbie Williams, who was lovingly nick named “the fat dancer” by the Gallaghers, has taken another pop at his old rivals Oasis.
Thinking Liam and Noel Gallagher are better off apart Robbie says: “Originally I thought they’d inevitably get back together because they are the band.
“But reading between the lines, they’re both really stubborn so I don’t think they will. To be honest, I know there’s history between us and this isn’t very complimentary, but they’ve been doing a lap of honour for the past 13 years. There’s been the occasional gem here and there, The Importance Of Being Idle, and, well, that’s about it.”
The tough words might come as a bit of a surprise as Robbie did have some good times with Oasis as he was made an “honorary member” of the band after he quit Take That and spent some time with the brothers Noel and Liam after the huge Oasis gig at Glastonbury 1995
Meanwhile Robbie seems to have a very busy personal life as it was announced today that he pulled out of his scheduled performance at next week’s MTV Europe Music Awards, citing a scheduling conflict.
MTV says the singer will not perform during Thursday’s ceremony at a Berlin arena where he is an award nominee in the Best Male category.
The former boy band singer recently put out his first album in three years after some flops. Robbie has said that the success of “Reality Killed the Video Star“… will decide my future.” Last week he played a well-received comeback gig at London’s Roundhouse.
