Bands such as Radiohead, Oasis and Muse have been included on a new War Child compilation which has brought together some of the best tracks which have been especially recorded for the charity during the past two decades.
Highlights from the ‘Help‘ album of 1995 abound, including the Smokin’ Mojo Filters‘ (a one-off collaboration between Paul McCartney, Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher) cover of ‘Come Together‘, and Gallagher’s own acoustic reworking of the Oasis b-side ‘Fade Away‘.
“The compilation documents the way War Child has had this integral, credible and proud relationship with the great and good of British music,” says War Child’s musical director Ben Knowles. “It’s one of the most amazing stories of British music history, the incredible support that came together around War Child back in 1994 and 1995 and has since.”
‘The Best Of War Child‘ is due for release on February 18th.
