Prince has died at the age of 57.
Although reports last week claiming his private jet had been forced into an emergency landing because of health reasons, his death is nevertheless another huge shock in a year which has already witnessed the passing of various entertainment icons.
According to TMZ, Prince’s body was found body at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota early this morning (April 21st).
It was the 1984 album ‘Purple Rain‘, its title-track, and the singles ‘When Doves Cry‘ and ‘Let’s Go Crazy‘ which made Prince a global superstar after his first album was released in 1978.
He would go on to become one of the biggest selling recording artists in history, shifting over 100 million records worldwide, including nearly 50 million units in the United States and 10 million in the UK.
In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
