Primal Scream performed a set voted for by their fans at a gig in London last night (November 10th), as part of the Levi’s Craft Of Music series.
Along side well established favourites ‘Movin On Up‘ and ‘Loaded‘ from ‘Screamadelica‘, fans also showed their love for the band’s 2000 album ‘XTRMNTR‘, with tracks such as ‘Swastika Eyes‘ and ‘Accelerator‘ being given a place on the setlist.
The gig, held at the Electric Brixton, marked one of bass player Mani‘s final shows with the band for the foreseeable future, as he prepares to rejoin the recently reformed Stone Roses next year.
However, when writing on Theprimalscream.com, Mani has said he will be leaving Primal Scream in the strongest position of their eventful career to date.
“I have found myself maneuvered into a position that, although myself and the Scream knew it could always arise, kinda wish that it wasn’t right now,” he wrote.
“We’ve just enjoyed our best year yet, well since I joined anyway, and started looking forward to the next project. One things for sure, with or without me, the Scream are never stronger than they are right now.”
Mani’s final Primal Scream gig is likely to come on New Year’s Eve at Edinburgh’s Hogmanony.
