Nez of Pulse Films aimed for a music video which is both ‘entertaining and evocative’ when directing Michael Kiwanuka‘s One More Night.

“We wanted to create a music video that was both entertaining and evocative,” Nez explains. “We collaborated with the Brooklyn Jumbies to create choreography, a story of optimism and togetherness of a community, rising up and standing tall.”

The track is off Kiwanuka’s glorious Love & Hate record, which we praised as a ‘reincarnation which has crafted one of 2016’s best records‘: “On ‘Love & Hate’s apex ‘Father’s Child‘ the simple loops, finger rolled keyboards and gossamer scream to a cry voice are in a magical alignment.”

“A marker from an artist emphatically at a peak he maybe felt he’d never reach, it’s a heartbeat which could belong to any moment of the last half century.”
