Portugal. The Man honour David Bowie with ‘Moonage Daydream’ cover

Portugal. The Man have ended a general period of inactivity to pay tribute to David Bowie, saying ‘his music and his being means everything to us’.

The band, whose 2013 album ‘Evil Friends’ was one of Live4ever’s top picks of that year, have covered Bowie’s Ziggy classic ‘Moonage Daydream‘ in remembrance of one of rock music’s greatest stars.

“There are no words to describe the loss of David Bowie. His music and his being means everything to us,” they say. “Hearing those records growing up in Alaska, the lyrics, the science fiction, the characters. What he did for us is immeasurable. Today the world is a sad place. We were lucky to have him here for as long as we did.”

“But look at the gifts he left us, hours and hours of music. Go listen, go remember, go celebrate David Bowie.”
