Pink Floyd announce huge 27-disc ‘The Early Years 1965-1972’ box-set

Pink Floyd

The early years of Pink Floyd, when they were led by the maverick psychedelia genius of Syd Barrett and leading up to their worldwide explosion with ‘Dark Side Of The Moon‘, will be documented in just about the most comprehensive form imaginable on November 11th.

The Early Years 1965-1972‘ is set to offer Floyd fanatics a total of 12 hours of audio and 15 hours of video across a 130-track multi-platform box-set – one of the most eagerly anticipated portions no doubt being the unused tracks intended for the soundtrack to the film More.

It’s divided into six volumes; ‘Cambridge St/ation’ focusing on the Syd Barrett-era from 1965-1967, while another section is entitled ‘Devi/ation’ and looks at the band’s early progressive moves post-Barrett on the first performance of ‘Atom Heart Mother‘ for the BBC.

If 27 discs feels a bit overwhelming, a 2CD highlights compilation is also up for grabs.
