Despite Pete Doherty’s solo restart, and Carl Barat’s ongoing association with The Jackals, the band have been keeping a focus on reunion matters and drummer Gary Powell told the Sheffield Star just before this festival appearance that another new album could be out by ‘spring next year’. “There’s always the possibility of sneaking in a little bit of something new just for people to get to grips with whatever direction that we will be taking next, to keep people as emotionally engaged as we possibly can,” he continued.

Also performing at Tramlines last weekend were the likes of the likes of Metronomy, The Coral, We Are Scientists, Twin Atlantic and Loyle Carner.
