It’ll be tough to shake off the many negatives when we all look back on 2016 in years to come, but one definite positive of these twelve months has been the return of Richard Ashcroft.
After releasing These People, his first solo album proper in a decade, the former Verve frontman is undertaking some lavish UK arena dates to round it off. Live4ever’s Alberto Pezzali was at the O2 gig in London last night and has the photos.

There’s already more arena dates lined up for 2017, and another new album might well be in the pipeline then too if comments he made to 6Music DJ Steve Lamacq back in April still hold true; “The outro has just got a great atmosphere for the end of the record, bookends it with ‘Out Of My Body’, almost like a deconstruction of the psyche through the album,” he said. “Also leaves it open for the next record because it’s been a few years now so I’ve got a number of tunes ready to roll for the next one.”
