The album was released almost exactly a year after the band publicly declared the hiatus which began after 2014’s So Long, See You Tomorrow had come to an end. It was a break earned after a run of four studio LPs in five years from when their debut I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose was released in 2009.

“This is an album for anyone who’s ever turned to music in a time of crisis, whether personal or political,” they said. “It’s about the solace one can get from listening to music or playing music when everything else has gone wrong. It’s about finding kernels of hope and renewal in dire situations.”
