Pete Doherty serenaded his audience with a rendition of La Marseillaise as he played the reopened Bataclan in Paris last night.
Just over a year since the venue was attacked by terrorists during an Eagles Of Death Metal gig, Doherty play the first of two shows there after Sting performed the official reopening last week.
The Libertines man was joined by his bandmate Carl Barat at one point, and also took the opportunity to perform France’s national anthem in tribute to those who died in November 2015.
Doherty plays the second Bataclan show tonight and then heads off to Toulouse, Marseille, Clermont, Lyon, Caen and Nantes before UK dates in London and Manchester just after the release of Hamburg Demonstrations on December 2nd.
