Paul McCartney’s 31 year old son James is set to release his debut album he has been working on for the past two years crediting his father as producer.
James McCartney previously appeared on several of Sir Paul’s albums such as the 2001 release ‘Driving Rain‘ playing guitar. The Telegraph reports that James was determined to forge his own path in the music business and at one stage worked as a waiter rather than take an allowance from his multi-millionaire father.
Back during the EP’s production days Sir Paul was quoted saying: “I’m actually doing some recording with my son, James. We’re looking at the idea of him making an album. He’s doing it all. He’s writing it all. It’s sensational.”
James reportedly is working with former members of Liverpool band The Dead 60s and has written around 20 tunes.
The five-track EP is called ‘Available Light‘ and and is scheduled for release on Sept 21. Four of the songs are originals and one is a cover of Neil Young’s ‘Old Man‘. The EP was recorded over a two-year period in the US and at London’s Abbey Road Studios.
