Razorlight have said they would like Noel Gallagher to produce their next album, saying it would give them ‘northern cred’. Speaking in The Mirror newspaper, bassist Carl Demeno said: “Maybe we should get Noel to produce the new Razorlight album. We’re looking for a producer, we need some northern cred!”

Razorlight have been working on their fourth studio album with new drummer David ‘Skully’ Sullivan-Kaplan, who replaced Andy Burrows earlier this year. Burrows is now reported to have joined US band We Are Scientists.

Skully told the paper he has fitted into the band well and is enjoying his time in the group: “Within a week it felt like I’d been here for years,” he said. “These guys are great, the music is great, they were very patient, encouraging and enthusiastic. It couldn’t have been a better fit, really. It’s been really fun and we’re already working on new material and playing new stuff live.”

Razorlight have been touring extensively throughout the year, appearing at shows across the globe as well as being a regular on this year’s festival circuit.
