Tour dates for Young Fathers and the latest reissue from Super Furry Animals were among last week’s biggest headlines on Live4ever.

Young Fathers have announced a run of UK tour dates for October.

They’ll take place after the band have returned from a visit to North America that month – which is set to include a New York date at Brooklyn Steel – and begin at The Dome in Brighton ahead of appearances in London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester.

Before then, more European festivals are booked for this month, with Green Man and Rock En Seine on the calendar.

José González has announced a 20th Anniversary deluxe reissue of Veneer.

Adding to González’s 2003 debut album is a bonus disc featuring his performance that year at the Gothenburg Concert Hall, from which Hints is online now.

“The word ‘veneer’ describes the thin material used to make cheap wood look expensive, and it’s also used to indicate other superficially appealing exteriors for what might otherwise seem less attractive, whether that’s buildings or teeth,” he’s said.

Orla Gartland has returned with her brand new single Kiss Ur Face Forever – about, ‘being in love and split down the middle by it’:

“I really love the erratic guitars and the urgency of the drums in this track – hearing the intro literally gets my heart rate up.”

“I wrote Kiss Ur Face Forever with Tom Stafford (my co-producer on my first smash-hit album Woman on the Internet) and my best friend Lauren Aquilina. Lauren and I live together and have been friends for 10+ years, since we were both tiny baby popstars.”

Super Furry Animals‘ run of reissues during the past few years has reached 2003 and Phantom Power.

The band will put out a remastered edition of the record for its 20th anniversary, adding bonus tracks too of unheard mixes, demos and outtakes.

“We’ve heard test pressings of the vinyl reissue of Phantom Power and our minds, now well-worn and occasionally more cynical, were completely blown,” they said.

Swedish House Mafia have continued their post-Paradise Again era with the new single Ray Of Sola – and they’re, ‘Happy to be back with a song that takes us places!’:

“Once we recorded these vocals we really got transcended to space. We listened to it on repeat all night and imagined floating in space. This is the summer record for us and even though we’ve heard it a million times and still feel the power of it, it’s a really special one, the unique vocal with our style of writing melodies makes it special!”

“Doing this together with Tove was incredible as we really felt we gave it a true Nordic sonic landscape. We love every second of it and can’t wait for the world to hear it!”

Jamie Webster has confirmed the details of his new album and a huge hometown gig next summer in the wake of its release.

10 For The People is to be released on February 2nd next year, featuring guest appearances from Brooke Coombe and Billy Bragg. “This next album is specifically for the people, it’s brimming with stories, lessons and calls to action,” Webster said.

“It’s about making people feel like they’re not alone. It will evoke a lot of questions about what is actually going on today. I’m literally just highlighting a lot of tales and scenarios of different people that will speak of wider injustice.”
