A new album from IDLES and Liam Gallagher‘s celebration of a classic one were among last week’s biggest headlines.

IDLES will release their new studio album TANGK on February 16th.

“TANGK,” Joe Talbot has said. “I needed love. So I made it. I gave love out to the world and it feels like magic. This is our album of gratitude and power. All love songs. All is love.”

The follow-up to 2021’s incendiary Crawler LP, its lead single features LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Nancy Whang on backing vocals.

Nadine Shah has set her fifth studio album Filthy Underneath for release on February 23rd next year.

The follow-up to 2020’s Kitchen Sink is being previewed with Topless Mother, ‘a song about a counsellor I worked with that I couldn’t get along with’:

“I’m pretty certain the feeling was mutual. And I’m also pretty certain she’d find this funny. Some people just don’t click and some arseholes like me write songs about it.”

Slash has announced a series of tour dates with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.

The River Is Rising – Rest Of The World Tour ’24 is due to begin in Mexico City on January 23rd next year, and will visit Japan at the start of March 2024 before a UK and Ireland arena run is set to open in Dublin later that month.

UK and Irish gigs start the European leg which will wrap up the tour in Paris on April 29th.

Liam Gallagher will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Definitely Maybe next June with a UK and Ireland arena tour.

“I’m bouncing around the house to announce the Definitely Maybe Tour. The most important album of the ‘90s bar none. I wouldn’t be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together LG x.”

The Oasis frontman is planning to play his band’s landmark debut album in full during the tour, while some of the era’s other favourites – such as Whatever, Fade Away, Listen Up and DM bonus track Sad Song – are also described as being ‘potentially included’ in the sets.

The Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer have announced a short run of co-headline UK and Ireland tour dates for next year.

They’ll begin at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on June 7th, 2024, moving on to the O2 Arena the following night.

It’s off to Dublin after that big London show for an appearance at 3Arena, with Glasgow and Manchester to follow ahead of the closing night at Cardiff Castle on June 14th.

Brittany Howard has unveiled her new album What Now.

The title-track is out with a video directed by Danilo Parra after recording sessions at Sound Emporium and RCA Studio B in Nashville.

“What Now is maybe the truest and bluest of all the songs. It’s never my design to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I needed to say what was on my mind without editing myself. I like how it’s a song that makes you want to dance, but at the same time the lyrics are brutal.”
