Live news from 50 Cent and Gerry Cinnamon were among the biggest headlines we featured last week.

50 Cent will go around the world this year on his Final Lap Tour with Busta Rhymes in support.

The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ anniversary gigs are due to start at Salt Lake City’s Maverik Center on July 21st, and will stay in North America all summer right through to September 17th.

The European leg is then due to open later that month at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, with UK gigs booked for December at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, the Manchester, AO Arena, The O2 in London and Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena.

Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten has unveiled his debut solo album Chaos For The Fly.

Coming to him ‘on the waves’ as he, ‘walked along Stoney Beach at night’, the album will be released on June 30th and exists partly due to Chatten’s singular desire to drive the direction of the tracks.

“I just thought: I want to do this myself,” he’s said. “I know where we as a band are going next and that’s not where I want to go with this.”

Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush and George Michael are among this year’s inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

These artists are a part of the 2023 class along with Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, The Spinners and Willie Nelson, and are announced ahead of a ceremony at Barclays Center in New York later this year.

“In 1991 four people in Los Angeles formed a musical group to stand where sound and solidarity intersect,” a statement from Rage begins.

Gerry Cinnamon will document his concerts at Glasgow’s Hampden Park on July 16th and 17th, 2022 with a live album release later this year.

“Live album out July. Bout time I put out a live album. The tunes aren’t complete until they’re sung live. Crowd are part of the band. Been meaning to do it for years but been caught up in a wee whirlwind. Had to be done for Hampden tho. Album three cooking in the pot as well.”

Out on July 14th, the album will be available in 2LP and CD formats, containing tracks including Kampfire Vampire which is streaming online now.

Bethany Cosentino has set her debut solo album Natural Disaster for release on July 28th.

The announcement has come with news of an indefinite hiatus for Best Coast as Cosentino searches for a more individual musical identity:

“My identity as a human being, and as an artist, has been so wrapped up in Best Coast for over a decade. The decision to pause the project indefinitely, and explore a new side of myself, was a very difficult one to make – but it felt necessary for me. Life is too short to not give yourself what you feel you need and want.”

Bass player Walter Gervers has rejoined Foals after five years away.

Yannis Philippakis shared the news on social media, writing:

“After 6 years in the alpine wilderness guess who’s back in the band?!! Walter is back & better than ever. Rejoining for all the coming shows & into the future. Get ready, the boys are back in business.”
