New music from Lauren Mayberry and The Kills were some of last week’s biggest headlines on Live4ever.

Lauren Mayberry has shared her debut solo single Are You Awake?.

“Are You Awake? is a song that started on a rainy day last December with Tobias Jesso Jr,” the CHVRCHES vocalist said.

“I was thinking a lot about loneliness and homesickness, and as soon as Tobias started playing the chords, the lyrics and melody came to me really quickly. I finished the song with my friend Matthew Koma, who really understood what I was trying to say.”

The 1975 have announced the details of the UK and European legs of their ‘Still…At Their Very Best’ tour.

From there, the mainland European shows are due to open in Lisbon at Campo Pequeno, and stretch through to the final part of March when closing night is booked at the Palladium in Cologne.

Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman have premiered the official video for their new Soft Play single Punk’s Dead.

The duo returned earlier this month with an explosive response to those who had taken exception to the Slaves name-change last year.

“We are aware that people have differing opinions on the name, we hope you can accept and respect our decision and not continue the argument between yourselves,” they said at the time.

A live and studio return from Augustines appears to be on the horizon.

Almost exactly seven years on from when the announcement was made that they would be calling it a day in the midst of a time which was, ‘very challenging for artists’, frontman Billy McCarthy has been on social media during recent days showing the beloved US band back together and apparently deep in studio rehearsals.

Live4ever was at that farewell UK tour when it reached the Leeds Stylus – waving ‘goodbye’ to a group who, ‘always gave so much more than they ever needed to’.

Tricky has announced a multi-format reissue of his 1995 debut album Maxinquaye.

The super deluxe 3LP edition will offer new versions of six tracks, along with previously unreleased BBC sessions, Black Steel live at Glastonbury 1995 and various alternate mixes.

“If you’re an artist or a musician and you look back at your old stuff, if you don’t think it’s dated then you’re either stood still or you’re satisfied with what you’ve done,” he’s said of the re-recorded material.
