New Order will release a ‘definitive edition’ box-set of their debut album Movement on April 5th next year.
Originally released in November 1981, Movement was their first act a year or so on from the tragic death of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis and represented an almost complete break from the band’s past, only Ceremony providing a very poignant link back to their former incarnation.
This new version comes after a remastered edition was put out in 2015 at the same time as their most recent studio LP Music Complete, an album which Live4ever said at the time represented a ‘complete rebirth‘:
“It almost goes without saying that the collective’s no-Hook prerogative is being flouted to its max; ‘People On The High Line‘ thumps with a limb-wrecking Cantina piano heft, whilst ‘The Game‘ tics nervously around a hybrid programming/people axis.”
