The unveiling of Neil Young and Bob Dylan as co-headliners for next year’s British Summer Time festival went down well among lovers of classic US songwriting, but less well with Young himself.

Writing on his Neil Young Archives (NYA) website earlier this week, Young said he had ‘no idea’ the announcement was being made that day, and that he was still in the process of ‘trying to make sure all of the details of the show were agreeable to him’.

One of the biggest of these problems being BST’s Barclays sponsorship, but it seems this particular hurdle has been overcome and there won’t be a sponsor at all when Young is due to perform at Hyde Park on July 12th 2019.

“NYA is happy to announce that the Hyde park show will proceed without Barclays as a sponsor,” a post on NYA has said.

“We are overjoyed, so happy to be playing the show! NYA tickets to all tiers will be available today. We will have the announcement and ticket sales up very soon.”
