My Chemical Romance’s reunion was on the west coast earlier this week.
Unless you were at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on December 20, 2019, you haven’t seen My Chemical Romance perform live before this 2022 Reunion Tour for a long, long time — in fact, if you bought a ticket for their pandemic-postponed show when you were 16 years old in 2019, you’d be well along in your college career now, but probably still just as excited to see them now as you were then.
Gerard and Mikey Way brought their music and excitement to California’s Oakland Arena on Wednesday night, and played to a packed crowd of MCR devotees who were ecstatic to be there – the kids against the front pit barricade lost their minds when the band took the stage following openers Surfbort and Taking Back Sunday.
Kicking the show off with The Foundations Of Decay, Na Na Na Na, and Give ‘Em Hell Kid, the band was relentless in its energy, and gave the years-waiting crowd exactly what they’d been waiting for.
