Nick Valensi‘s new project CRX isn’t getting in the way of The Strokes‘ resurgence.
Speaking to NME, the guitarist has revealed new music should follow the ‘Future Present Past’ EP some time next year, possibly completely out of the blue a la Beyonce.
“The Strokes are alive and well and living in New York City,” he said. “We are working on music and we want to hopefully put music out next year.”
“If I start saying a lot now, people get too excited. Then there’s all this hype you’ve got to compete with, and that’s not fun. If anything, I’d rather just pull a Beyonce at some point next year.”
Valensi has teamed with Richie James Follin on keyboards, Ralph Alexander (drums), Jon Safley (bass) and Darian Zahedi (guitar) for CRX’s debut album ‘New Skin‘, released on October 28th and produced by Josh Homme.
