Maximo Park return after more than 18 months.

Maximo Park have released their brand new single Favourite Songs.

It’s yet another signature slice of catchy art-pop from one of the 2000s’ greatest survivors, and Paul Smith has said:

Our aim was to create a peppy yet powerful ode to the consolation of music and companionship in the face of other people’s preconceptions.

We last caught the band live in Bristol back in October 2022, finding them, ‘still making us think and dance after 20 years’:

“Hips And Lips buzzes and bruises, What Equals Love? features a near EDM strut and, speaking of electronica, the soothing keyboards of Leave This Island would be a welcome break from the high-tempo indie were it placed later in the set, rather than 3 songs in.”

“Get High, No I Don’t flirts with preposterousness but lands on just the right side of it, while Baby, Sleep (a number one in Latvia, the perpetually self-deprecating Smith jokes) is the earworm to end them all.”
