Dan Auerbach has been talking through the details of his second solo album which is to be released next year.

The record has been a long time in the making, going back to not long after 2009’s solo debut Keep It Hid when he relocated to Nashville and began producing at the Easy Eye Sound studios, eventually co-writing new music with John Prine and David Ferguson.

The result is a stockpile of 60 tracks, notable amongst these being Malibu Man – a tribute to Rick Rubin – and Shine On Me featuring rhythm guitar from Mark Knopfler. “I learned so much from these guys,” Auerbach has told Rolling Stone.

“These guys tell me they’re genuinely thrilled to be here because we’re making records like they used to.”

The solo LP will be toured – ‘how can you not?’, he asked RS.
