Tomorrow, the Manic Street Preachers‘ will document their Holy Bible anniversary tour on the BE PURE. BE VIGILANT. BEHAVE film at Premiere Cinemas in Cardiff, and they’ve now shared a short clip to get things going.
It’s been directed by the band’s long-time collaborator Kieran Evans, who’s shared his thoughts on the album with NME.
“Despite what people may say, it’s a very hooky album,” he said. “There are moments like ‘Faster’ and ‘Revol’ that are some of the most thrilling rock n’ roll songs that you can see – the effect on the audience is incredible.”
“Wire and I were discussing how we’d pitch it, and we settled on ‘The Sex Pistols directed by Gaspar Noé’.”
After a fair bit of umming and ahhing, the Manics did indeed start a 20th anniversary tour of their third album in 2014, and also prepared a reissue for release that year.
