“It explores primitivism, back to the land movements and how to pay attention,” Liz Lawrence has said of the EP.
Liz Lawrence has returned with her new EP I Was There.
The title-track features Steve Mason – who was, ‘so easy to work with and really understood the track and the wryness of it’, according to Lawrence:
He sent me his vocals and they immediately widened out the track and filled it with energy and depth. I love the way our intonations elbow into each other creating a harmonious ruckus, it gives me a full buzz.
“I loved this song as soon as I heard it, it’s very immediate and has great lyrics throughout about alienation and the absurdity of life,” Mason added. “‘St. Paul’s cathedral didn’t blow my mind’ is a very funny and clever lyric. It was a pleasure to be involved and I hope to work with Liz again.”
