Who?
Mike McGranaghan: Rhythm guitar and lead vocals
Jamie Clarke: Lead guitar and vocals
Joe James: Bass guitar and vocals
Charlie Jennings: Drums and vocals
Where?
London.
How?
Mike, Jamie, and Charlie met at school and have been in bands together ever since. Joe met Mike through the live music society at university in Bristol – they jammed together and became mates. Bit of a surprise when they found out they lived five minutes from each other back in London.
Why?
Who knows, why does anyone do anything? (Joe BA Hons Philosophy).
Past?
Charlie was the best Argos employee this side of the Thames. Joe switched from answering phones to selling houses, to working in a gym. Mike was in the marketing department of a security firm and Jamie was a full-time student/layabout.
Present?
After sticking with jobs long enough to fund practising, we’ve been gigging in and around London and in the studio working on new material.
Future?
Big and small festivals, the results of said studio work, and to explore the other venues the rest of England has to offer.
Did you know?
Jamie was in a fake band in a master card advert. (Youtube ‘Mastercard The Big Lunch’).
What’s next?
Headlining RoadTrip and The WorkShop in Shoreditch on Saturday, January 24th.
Live4ever:
Sometimes even just the process of sticking a guitar strap over your head can feel like telling the whole music world you’re against it: everyone knows that the wounded beast formerly known as indie music is on its way out, right?
Well, The Jaggs don’t hear you. Four chaps from in and around London, they’ve been treating punters to their old-ish school take on bluesy garage for a couple of years now, gradually winning them over with little more than great songs and a winning smile. They’ll need some luck in 2015 – and some help from you – but we reckon that keepers of the flame as good as this deserve a bit of both.
