Led Zeppelin’s ‘Celebration Day’ to air on the BBC

A shortened version of Led Zeppelin‘s live album ‘Celebration Day‘ will air on the BBC next month.

The DVD and album was released last week, and captures the three surviving Led Zeppelin members, along with Jason Bonham, son of their late drummer John, performing live at London’s O2 Arena back in 2007.

The one-off reunion show was organised in memory of the Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who had died a year earlier. And an hour-long version of the concert will now be shown on BBC2 on December 8th, meaning around half of the performance will be edited.

‘Celebration Day’ entered at #2 on the UK’s main chart rundown last weekend, and topped the UK Record Store Chart, which is compiled entirely from sales registered at independent record shops across Britain.

Jimmy Page recently told Mojo the release of ‘Celebration Day’ will be followed next year by a series of remastered albums from their back catalogue, with each being issued via an individual boxset version.
